FUW joins forces with GWCT Wales for the Big Farmland Bird Count

Bleddyn Thomas and Matthew Goodall of GWCT Wales explain what the GWCT Big Farmland Bird Count is, and why you should get involved.

We are once again joining forces with the Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) to showcase the important role farmers play when it comes to looking after farmland birds, as well as helping farmers understand what they can do on their farms to protect birds.

The aim of the Big Farmland Bird Count is to raise awareness of the great conservation work being done on farms across Wales and to highlight what can be done to help farmland birds survive this difficult time of year so that the breeding populations are increased.

We are looking forward to the special webinar which will help us to understand the importance of recording which birds are present and how policies are affecting what can be done on farms to look after our birds, whilst producing food.
